The candidate would be joining a small, mission-driven team within a large organization. A self-starter possessing the ability to quickly absorb information and drive assignments to completion with limited oversight is required. Excellent organizational ability, combined with flexibility and adaptability in working with multiple, diverse companies and in handling rapidly changing priorities is essential. The candidate will lead coordination between multiple parties internal and external to the organization to project manage technical development, bug fixes, design updates, and content of a global scientific community platform, Green Chemistry for Sustainability. The candidate will identify, prioritize, review and test updates. They will also moderate user-generated content and identify, edit, review and possibly write relevant content for the platform. They will effectively interact with multiple people on the team, be highly responsive to queries and requests, calmly navigate ambiguity, and develop and maintain trust of sensitive information and of people. The role includes collaboration with team members to determine and prioritize programs, initiatives, and events. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are required as well as a technology-savvy approach. Finally, the candidate will perform other related tasks for the GCI such as reviewing and updating websites.
Work design: Works under general supervision. Remote work possible; Hybrid work preferred with work in DC office twice per week. Resolves non-routine problems by applying general policies, practices, procedures, and principles. Performs in-depth analyses of standard problems.
Software Details: Required proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Drupal, Wordpress, and/or other CMSs. Use of task management software helpful. Willingness to learn new software platforms utilized by both internal and external stakeholders required. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (esp. Photoshop, Premiere, and InDesign), Canva, and Social Media tools a plus.
