Network Engineer designs, configures, implements, and supports network infrastructure solutions. Network Engineers, as a member of a team, are responsible for developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and service level agreements. SLAs.

responsibilities:
Configure and deploy routers, switches, optical systems and other network devices
Design and document network solutions based on business drivers
Ensure continued smooth operation of network infrastructure
Develop method of procedures to aid remote deployments, creating process and procedure documentation, teaching and training field support personnel
Prepares logs, reports, user guides, and other necessary documentation as needed to track and analyze use and costs of telecommunications equipment and systems
Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on telecom and networking hardware and software
Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine equipment needs and optimal placement
Maintain detailed records of work performed, including equipment installations, maintenance activities, and service disruptions
Collaborate with client IT staff to ensure seamless integration of telecom and networking systems with existing infrastructure
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve service delivery.
Continuously learn and share knowledge with colleagues
Develops, maintains, and orders inventory of telecommunications equipment for customer premises equipment (CPE), facilities, backbone networks, and access networks
Lead emergency response efforts to address critical system failures or service interruptions
Suggest and implement security measures to protect network data and systems from threats and vulnerabilities
Executes backups, recovery procedures, and preventive maintenance
Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions to support client growth and new technology initiatives
Conduct regular network performance assessments and implement improvements as needed
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies regarding network security and data protection
Develops, maintains, documents, and implements business continuity and disaster recovery plans for telecommunications networks
Collaborates with IT support, sales, and other client-facing teams, as well as system administrators and engineers to assess current and future telecommunications system and equipment needs
Obtains price quotes from vendors
qualifications:
At least 5 years' experience in network engineering and design highly desired
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex technical issues
Exhibits a high level of initiative, resourcefulness, and integrity
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Proven documentation skills with consistent accuracy of details
Superior customer service and sales skills. Self-starter with a high energy level.
Operate with a considerable degree of credibility and business sense.
Working knowledge and design of distributed networks
Working Knowledge of fiber optic handling and specifications
Understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, IP Subnetting)
Packet decoding skills for application troubleshooting
Working knowledge of network management platforms including Solarwinds, and SNMP
Experience working with DWDM optical systems
Experience with implementing MPLS networks
Hands-on Cisco configuration, support, and troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of RAD TDMOIP systems, preferred
Knowledge of Telco Grade DC Power Systems, preferred
Knowledge of GIS systems such as ESRI ArcGIS, preferred
Knowledge of DCIM systems such as NetZoom DCIM, preferred
Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+) preferred
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
