Our client, a leader in the Electric Power industry, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their dynamic team in the Chicago, IL, Peoria, IL, or Plano, TX area. This long term contract role is centered around providing strategic project management for small-to-medium-sized business units within a growing digital environment. The Senior Project Manager will be a key player in supporting our Account Managers and ensuring that all projects are executed effectively and efficiently. The role requires strong project management expertise, excellent communication skills, and Workfront experience.

responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership:
- Act as a trusted partner to Account Managers (AMs) and independently manage small-to-extra-small business units (BUs) without direct AM oversight.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders to drive project success.
- Own the creation and management of all Workfront projects, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and resources are aligned with client and business goals.
- Partner with the Resource Manager to align on staffing and resourcing needs.
- Coordinate and manage all project-related meetings, including setting agendas, taking meeting notes, and distributing follow-up recaps to ensure all stakeholders are aligned.
- Lead POD (Project Organizational Development) meetings, setting the agenda, structuring discussions, and ensuring clear follow-ups to maintain project momentum.
- Act as a back-up to the Account Manager during their out-of-office periods, ensuring the smooth continuation of project workflows and communication with clients.
- Maintain continuity in project deliverables and timelines during AM absences.
- Present project status, updates, and insights to lower-level management (up to the director level) as needed, ensuring clear communication of progress and any risks or opportunities.

qualifications:
- Experience:
- 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in marketing, digital, or related fields.
- Familiarity with digital project management tools like Workfront is essential.
- Previous exposure to client management and cross-functional team collaboration.
- Attention to Detail:
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify risks and resolve issues before they escalate.
- Marketing and Digital Expertise:
- Experience with marketing automation, digital strategies, social media, and SEO/SEM.
- Understanding of digital marketing strategies and how they integrate with overall business objectives.
- Agency Experience:
- Experience working in an agency environment is preferred due to its fast-paced nature and high project turnover.

- Proficiency with Workfront (required) and familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (preferred).
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage meetings, resources, and client relationships.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often ambiguous environment.
- Self-starter with a collaborative mindset, able to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
