Our client is looking for a Desktop Support Technician eager to advance their career in the IT field. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity and the position will support a client ONSITE in the San Jose area. Responsible for supporting, maintaining, and implementing a variety of customer technologies and services. Customer service oriented with great communications skills are a big plus!

Position Summary
The Desktop Support Technician role is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and implementing a variety of customer technologies and services. The candidate will possess a strong work ethic and hands-on approach to customer interaction and time management. Prior knowledge in technology and user support is required in medium or larger sized environments.
A successful candidate must have strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer first approach. Working as part of an engineering team is expected, however, the ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment will be critical.
Required Skills
- Experience with administering Windows, Mac, laptops, printers/copiers and desktops.
- Experience using basic operating system tools to troubleshoot configuration, software, and infrastructure problems.
- Experience with most basic system administration tools and processes; for example, ability to boot/shut down a machine, add and remove user accounts, install and license software packages, use backup programs, manage shared resources, add a computer to a network, and mount remote file systems.
- Experience with ticketing systems (specifically Jira) and processes including incident and request management.
- Experience with configuring phones and audio/visual support to Teams conference room.
- Experience creating and maintaining documentation for the purpose of reducing errors and streamlining processes.
- Able to occasionally work off hours for planned maintenance or unplanned emergencies as needed.
- One to three years of experience within an MSP, VAR, ISP, NOC, or helpdesk environment.
- Prior experience with Active Directory administration.
- Good understanding of MS Windows Server support.
- Experience imaging workstations.
- Lab or clean room support experience
