Description:
- Perform accounting, reporting and financial analysis as assigned for the enterprise.
- This role is responsible for complex and multifunctional areas of accounting, maintaining proper accounting and financial control through reconcilations and analytical analysis related to assigned functional areas.
- Actively participate and ensure timely and accurate financial statement reporting for Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), tax and other regulatory reporting.
- Conduct independent accounting-based research and complex analytical projects.
- Supports internal and external audits of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington and its subsidiaries.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with operational departments and external vendors.
- Supports the budget process.
- If assigned to work on federal contracts, this role may be required to undergo and pass a security background clearance per federal government regulations
- Participates in and implements monthly financial close, prepare and supervises the assignments of the staff accountants to include general ledger, construction-in-process (CIP), fixed assets and leases. Prepares journal entries, account reconciliations, monthly management financial reporting package, regulatory reporting and/or executive summary schedules.
- BA in Accounting or Finance plus minimum 6+ years of direct relevant experience.
- Uses professional accounting concepts and internal company policies to solve complex accounting issues including the maintenance of internal controls.
- Preference for both US GAAP and Statutory experience.
