The Manager, Infrastructure Special Projects is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and support of the organization's hybrid IT infrastructure, including both cloud and on-premises environments. This role ensures infrastructure performance, security, and scalability while aligning with the company's strategic goals.
Managing a team of engineers and administrators, the Manager will oversee the deployment of cloud solutions and ongoing maintenance of legacy systems. With expertise in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and traditional data center operations, the Manager will play a key role in modernizing the IT landscape.
Responsibilities include developing cloud migration strategies, managing infrastructure lifecycles, ensuring security and compliance, and driving improvements through automation. The Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient, efficient infrastructure solutions that meet business needs.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate patch management meetings and coordination with SMEs to identify updates or patches for Bulk Electric Systems (BES) Cyber Systems.
- Establish KPIs and SLAs, ensuring all tickets (incidents, service requests, change requests) meet proper SLAs and workflows.
- Track and approve patch management activities within configuration management and change control processes.
- Serve as the Internal Audit liaison, monitoring action items and managing Requests for Information (RFIs) with relevant business units.
- Provide resources for special reports and projects and assist with gap analysis.
- Plan and manage process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure patch management processes are documented and compliant with company policies.
- Track mitigations to ensure timely security releases or updates in accordance with company procedures.
- Experience in a security role within a complex, technical environment.
- Proven ability to collaborate with enterprise security stakeholders.
- Knowledge of generating automated metrics to measure service effectiveness.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
- Understanding of infrastructure and operations.
- Experience in NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) regulations.
- IT auditing or security background (CISA/CISM, CISSP, or other certifications).
- Cyber vulnerability management experience.
