job summary:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager (EM) to oversee the technical, cost, and schedule performance of our engineering product teams. As a key member of our organization, the EM will ensure effective management of complex Department of Defense (DoD) systems while providing consultative guidance to senior leadership and clients.

responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Control Account Managers (CAMs) and EVM personnel to assess and manage cost and schedule performance.
- Oversee dependencies between various product teams and support external collaborations.
- Manage technical issues and report progress regularly.
- Assist in proposal development and ensure clarity in product team technical commitments.
- Maintain a backlog of assigned features to meet technical obligations.
- Ensure adherence to organizational processes by all teams.
- Generate Estimated Time to Complete (ETC) and other relevant engineering metrics to identify and resolve technical or staffing challenges while managing costs and schedules.
qualifications:
- Expertise in advanced technical concepts with a minimum of 12+ years of experience (or a bachelor's degree with 14+ years); demonstrated authority in the discipline.
- Proven track record in managing and delivering complex DoD systems.
- Proficient in Earned Value Management (EVM) and Agile Development Processes and tools, including Jira and Confluence.
- Strong managerial and leadership experience with the ability to lead teams effectively.
- Ability to generate key performance metrics and produce high-quality documentation.
- Exceptional communication skills for advising top management and clients on technical research studies and applications.

skills: - Experience with the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) system and the Missile Defense System.
- Background in flight test/event planning and execution.
- Project management experience, particularly in Agile iteration planning.
- Familiarity with writing job requisitions and managing team monthly charging guidance (EVM).
- Capability to respond to government requests for Basis of Estimate (BOE), cost estimates, Rough Order Magnitudes (ROMs), and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
