We are seeking a highly skilled Automation and Tooling Engineer to join our vulnerability remediation engineering team. This role is responsible for improving existing or developing new automation tools, frameworks, and processes that optimize the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will work closely with various ops and engineering teams to ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable software deployment and testing.

responsibilities:
- Automation Development: Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks and scripts to support continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD), and testing processes.
- Tooling: Develop and integrate tools to streamline development workflows, enhance software quality, and improve team productivity. This includes tools for code analysis, version control, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams to identify opportunities for automation and tooling improvements across the software lifecycle.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the development and testing processes and implement solutions to address them through automation.
- Testing: Create and maintain automated test suites to ensure that applications function correctly and meet the required performance standards.
- Documentation: Write clear and concise documentation for tools, automation processes, and workflows to enable effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Integration: Work on integrating automation solutions with cloud services, container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and version control systems (e.g., GitHub, GitLab).
- Monitoring & Reporting: Implement monitoring and reporting systems to track the performance of the automated pipelines and identify areas for further optimization.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of experience in software development, automation, or DevOps roles.
- Previous experience with large-scale software systems and cloud-based infrastructures.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus.
- Proficiency in languages like Python, Java, or Bash. Experience with scripting languages for automation tasks is a must.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and platforms such as Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI, or Travis CI.
- Strong knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, PyTest, TestNG).
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their integration with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet is a plus.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve automation-related issues.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
