Our high-end construction client is looking to hire an IT Helpdesk Technician! The IT Helpdesk Technician will work in a contract-to-hire capacity.
They will work onsite providing support to end users with their day-to-day technical needs and issues, including hardware and software, laptops, cell phones, networks, printers, etc.
They will work with tools including Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, Outlook, OneDrive, and TeamViewer for field support.
Candidates must have recent experience working in an onsite, face to face IT helpdesk role and excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.

responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to end users with their day-to-day technical needs and issues.
- Act as main contact for all internal and external customer technical support required for computer workstation hardware and software, telephone, network, operating system, printing, and internet access problems.
- Investigate user problems and identify source, determine possible solutions, test and implement solutions.
- Perform installs, upgrades, moves, changes for computer workstation hardware and software, and other technical devices.
- Perform a variety of maintenance, software installation, end-user support and training tasks to ensure end-user workstations and network performance meet company and user requirements.
- Conduct needs assessments, evaluate current assistance, and develop approaches to enhance company capabilities for user support.
- Provide assessments reports to management on status and recommendation improvements.
- Train users in learning new company provided applications and assist in problem solving for applications issues.
- Maintain the information resources depository of instructional materials for user applications and makes recommendations for additions to learning aids and tools.
- Maintain network and PC preventative maintenance logging efforts to ensure network and data integrity.
- Test new software applications and recommends purchase where required. Train staff on new applications.
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stores and accessed by end user on the network.
- Install, configure, maintain personal computers, laptops, networks, and related hardware and software.
- Develop and maintains standard operating procedures for the department.
- Provide assistance to the IT Manager as needed.
qualifications:
- 3+ years of onsite Help Desk and Networking experience.
- Strong knowledge of PCs, laptops, printers, and peripheral hardware devices.
- Strong knowledge of Windows10/11, Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, OneDrive, communications software, virus protection, and diagnostic software.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve onsite and remote PC related computing problems.
- Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical personnel.
- Strong follow-up skills and sense of urgency.
- Strong phone and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask, work well in a team environment.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
