What You'll Do
- Detective Work: Evaluate and execute testing procedures to uncover hidden defects and ensure software quality
- Script Development: Create comprehensive test plans and scripts that validate software functionality
- Problem Solving: Isolate, reproduce, and track defects through resolution
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams including developers and automation engineers
- Data Mastery: Prepare complex data sets to test logic, error handling, and system workflows
- Verification: Validate that fixes address the root cause without introducing new issues
- Documentation: Record testing processes and results with precision and clarity
- Duration: 12-month contract

responsibilities:
- Works with the Enterprise Technology QA Team on software development projects and systems reviews of varying magnitude.
- Evaluates and executes testing procedures to ensure that software meets established quality standards.
- Develops and writes testing scripts and plans to ensure that software functions as expected.
- Prepares complex data sets to test logic, error handling and system workflows. Isolates, reproduces, and tracks defects.
- Participates in Requirements reviews (Business, Technical, Functional, and Design), evaluates and generates test cases, write test scripts and estimates target completion dates.
- Prepare and/or locate test data to meet test case criteria.
- Meet script execution goals as outlined and directed by team lead.
- Update and maintain test scripts as necessary
- Assists with validating changes migrated to all test environment(s) appropriately, and/or new environment(s) connectivity, and confirm environment test readiness for various QA test phases.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Automation Team Engineers, to develop effective test strategies, scripts, and test plans.
- Verifies fixes.
- Communicates with software development teams and provides defect troubleshooting assistance and resolution.
- Participate in team or project meetings as directed by Team Lead.
- Documents testing according to required procedures.
- Documents results and uses designated systems and tools to track outcomes.
- May present outcomes to team.
- Assists in developing quality control policies and evaluates software production limitations.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience with software development lifecycle and QA methodologies
- Expert-level Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Strong knowledge of structured development environments
- Experience with test management tools like HP ALM (Quality Center)
- Self-motivation and ability to inspire others
- Project management experience and independent work ethic
- Efficiency-focused mindset with process improvement ideas
