Seeking a motivated and experienced IBM IWS / TWS Platform Administrator to manage and maintain our complex, high-availability IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS) environment running on AWS. The ideal candidate will have several years of hands-on experience with IBM IWS, along with a strong understanding of managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing a high-availability, cloud-based infrastructure. This role requires the ability to work in a dynamic environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and a willingness to engage with other technologies as needed.

responsibilities:
- Administration and Maintenance: Oversee the administration of IBM IWS / TWS platform, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability.
- AWS Management: Manage IWS running in an AWS cloud environment, leveraging best practices for performance tuning, scaling, and high availability.
- Job Scheduling and Deployment: Monitor, maintain, and configure job schedules, ensuring they run correctly in production environments.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for issues related to job scheduling, IWS components, and AWS infrastructure.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, systems engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of new jobs and processes.
- Automation and Scripting: Utilize scripting languages like Python to automate tasks and streamline processes.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of system configurations, changes, and processes.
qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience working with IBM IWS / TWS in a complex environment.
- AWS Proficiency: Hands-on experience managing IWS / TWS in an AWS cloud-based infrastructure with a focus on high availability and scalability.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of IBM IWS (TWS) components, job scheduling, and monitoring.
- Solid understanding of AWS services, including EC2, S3, IAM, and RDS.
- Proficiency in scripting with Python.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with technical/non-technical stakeholders.
skills: Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Java Development: Familiarity with Java for working on in-house applications that facilitate IWS job deployment.
- JavaScript/TypeScript: Knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript for front-end and back-end integration tasks.
- Database Knowledge: Understanding of relational database concepts, with experience in managing or working with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
- SQL Proficiency: Strong skills in SQL for querying, analyzing, and troubleshooting data-related issues.
- Automation Tools: Experience with automation tools to enhance operational efficiency.
- IBM MQ Administration installing, configuring, and maintaining IBM MQ environments.
