Scope of Work
Required consultant experience provided by Contractor, shall include:
- At least four years of work experience as a business analyst.
- Experience reading and writing software documentation.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using Microsoft Visio or similar flowcharting tool.
- Experience in requirements gathering and documentation.
- Experience producing technical documentation.
- Experience in conducting data analysis using PL/SQL, SPSS, PowerBI, Excel, etc.
- Experience in producing documentation for purposes developing ETL pipelines.
- Experience in performing unit and/or user acceptance testing and documenting system issues.
- Experience on projects and/or teams using Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
- Experience with cloud computing.
- Holds a bachelor's or master's degree in data analysis, information systems, computer science, or similar degree program.
- Holds one of the following certifications: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), or Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA).
The Business Analyst position will provide consulting services in support of the creation of a Data Warehouse. The Business Analyst acquired will have the responsibility of serving as a liaison between an Oversight IT Program, Information Services Program, and vendor solutions contracted for the Data Warehouse Implementation. The Business Analyst will be responsible for the following:
- Gathering user requirements from team members for data warehouse features, reporting needs, and enhancements.
- Creating flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate data flow, ETL processes, and logical operational steps within the data warehouse; writing specifications and system documentation for data models
- Organizing requirements documentation and communicating with data engineering and development teams to ensure alignment on data structures and integration processes.
- Creating and maintaining a digital binder for project documentation of a project's progress including feasibility analyses, requirements, meeting notes, data lineage and flow maps and other materials.
- Translating and simplifying requirements as needed.
- Providing requirements analysis to identify gaps and opportunities for optimization in data storage and retrieval processes.
- Helping teams prepare for user acceptance testing by developing test cases that align with user requirements and expected outcomes from the data warehouse.
- Reviewing and testing data warehouse components, including ETL processes, data integrity, and reporting functionalities, to ensure they meet specified requirements.
- Documenting and communicating change requests and application issues.
- Assisting teams in documenting requirements for performance metrics that evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the data warehouse.
- Creating job aids and training for the new technology solutions to ensure all employees and external parties use the technology correctly.
- Coordinating with members of the team to make sure all sub-process procedures, manuals and guidelines are updated to include the new procedures.
