Information Technology is seeking an experienced Epic Orders Build
Analyst to support the ongoing update of Epic order sets. This role involves
collaborating with clinicians, application analysts, and operational
stakeholders to ensure that order sets align with current best practices for
patient care. The Epic Orders Build Analyst will be responsible for gathering
requirements, performing build activities, and conducting testing to
implement updates. You will also be involved in facilitating meetings,
managing technical implementations, and supporting user adoption of
changes. The position requires proficiency in Epic order set build, as well as
strong communication and problem-solving skills. This role is crucial for
ensuring that order set updates meet clinical and operational needs while
maintaining system functionality.
Responsibilities
- Work with application analysts and operational stakeholders to
collect requirements for updating and maintaining Epic order set
builds.
- Gather and document orders-related enhancement build
requirements from clinical stakeholders and implement them into
Epic environments.
- Perform build activities throughout the software development
lifecycle, ensuring the timely and efficient implementation of
necessary updates.
- Facilitate meetings, providing necessary agendas and meeting
minutes for effective technical implementations and user adoption.
- Collaborate with operations to identify and implement key
performance indicators (KPIs) for measuring the success of the
updates.
- Provide weekly status reports to project leadership on the progress
of assignments and any escalations.
- Perform testing of orders, collaborating with operational
stakeholders to ensure proper execution and functionality.
- Partner with IT leadership to escalate issues to program governance
when necessary for resolution.
- Work closely with clinical customers to implement and provide
training for any updates or changes in order sets.
Required Technical Experience
- Epic Certification: Epic Orders Certification is required.
- Epic Order Set Build: At least 10 years of experience in Epic application build and support, specifically with Epic order set builds.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in implementing Epic order set changes and enhancements within Epic EMR systems.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively with clinical end users, IT teams, and other stakeholders.
- Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Familiarity with the processes of design, build, testing, and implementation of application changes in an Epic environment.
