For this contractor assignment, a Commercial Lines group has implemented a new Duck Creek based Policy Administration and Rating solution that provides industry leading capabilities to achieve usability and cost leadership, product speed to market, and underwriting dexterity. The implication of this program has potential to set a new direction for how Information Technology solutions are developed, tested, implemented and supported within our organization. This contractor will participate in our Agile and Lean processes in one of our delivery teams supporting key business initiatives to transform the platforms Product and core servicing functionality. This role will focus on functional testing, mainly manual which would include risk-based testing, and the ability to identify automation testing opportunities.

responsibilities:
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Interacts closely with peers and business customers in the system analysis process and helps to gather requirements that facilitate system testing.
- Participates in requirements reviews, design reviews, systems analysis and testing review discussions.
- Uses available information and seeks additional guidance to understand the system under test (functional testing).
- Contributes to the Test Strategy and performs risk analysis to guide testing efforts for assigned work.
- Tests systems or system components utilizing black box testing methods
- Validates the function of system under test and observes results from various external and internal interfaces with assistance.
- Prepares test tools, automation and environment assets to support testing effort.
- Creates, uses and maintains automated scripts that increase efficiencies in testing.
- Captures test activity information during execution. Communicates regularly with project team members.
- Provides status and results of testing activities.
- Contributes to the maintenance activities for platform or project test assets (e.g. Risk Catalog, regression test suites).
- Creates effective ways to display data using various modeling, reporting, statistical perspectives and trending methods.
- Commonly, tests completed software or end-to-end transactions for projects.
qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in a Business or Information Technology discipline or related field of study and minimum 4 years of related work experience analyzing, testing, and implementing business system changes or user acceptance testing.
- In lieu of the above, a high school diploma or GED or higher and the completion of a technical training program, and a minimum of 4 years of related work experience analyzing, testing, and implementing business system changes or user acceptance testing.
- In lieu of the above, a high school diploma or GED or higher and a minimum of 6 years of related work experience analyzing, testing, and implementing business system changes or user acceptance testing.
skills: Required skills/experience:
- Commercial Auto Insurance experience
- Testing applications running on Duck Creek
- Experience with appropriate testing techniques to test complex business and technical requirements
- Experience with Risk Based Testing
- Knowledge of common testing methods, testing tools, terminology and industry practices.
- Proficiency in using software packages or tools for processing or displaying data (e.g. Microsoft Excel, SQL Queries).
- Experience with Scrum or other iterative development methodologies
Preferred skills:
- Experience with leveraging Automation testing
- Ability to research and maintain awareness of emerging technology
- Independent Learner who has successfully demonstrated their ability to be a self-starter to thoroughly understand both Business and Systems related to the testing needed.
