Job Summary
Information Technology is seeking an experienced Senior Client Endpoint
Engineer is needed to support the Client Engineering team. This role will
focus on key operational support tasks, allowing the team to concentrate on
strategic, project-driven initiatives. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in
Endpoint Management and Operational Support, responsibilities will include
triaging incoming tickets, deploying software packages and security
patches, performing system diagnostics, creating reports, and providing 3rd
level support. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in
endpoint management, Symantec console operations, and supporting
enterprise systems.
Responsibilities
- Ticket and Request Management: Manage and triage incoming
tickets and requests, ensuring timely resolution and prioritization of
tasks.
- Software Deployment: Create and deploy software packages to
endpoints, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
- Security Patch Management: Deploy security patches and perform
monthly patching maintenance across endpoints and servers.
- Reporting and Documentation: Create and maintain detailed reports
within the Symantec console, document procedures, incident
reports, and system configurations to ensure clarity and accessibility
for future reference.
- 3rd Level Support: Provide third-level support for the Technical
Operations Center (TOC) and Endpoint Support Services, handling
complex issues and escalating when necessary.
- System Health Monitoring and Maintenance: Perform daily, weekly,
and monthly system health checks, including diagnostics, Windows
event logs, syslog monitoring, and RAAD (Remote Management
Symantec Agent Diagnostics).
- Conduct server maintenance to ensure optimal performance and
functionality of endpoint management systems.
Script Development: Create and maintain PowerShell and Visual Basic scripts to automate tasks and optimize system performance.
- Cross-Department Communication: Communicate effectively with clinical departments, clinics, IT Security, vendors, clinical engineering, research, education, and other departments throughout the Health System to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Vendor Relations: Maintain strong relationships with vendor support, manage tickets, and escalate issues when necessary to ensure timely resolution.
Required Technical Experience
- 3+ years of experience managing endpoints with Symantec Endpoint (Altiris) in an enterprise of 6,000 endpoints or more.
- 5+ years of experience in endpoint management/operational support within an enterprise organization of 8,000 endpoints or more.
- 2+ years of experience using Active Directory Users and Computers.
- 2+ years of experience in creating and maintaining PowerShell and Visual Basic scripts.
- Proven experience in Technical Project Management, with the ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Experience working within a healthcare organization and a strong understanding of HIPAA regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience working with staff at all levels.
