Description:
- The Lab Systems Integration Specialist will be responsible for assisting the rollout of integration between the iKnowMed Generation 2 EHR and molecular genomic lab vendors as well as clinical practice's laboratory information systems (LIS)
- This position will be highly engaged with our customers and vendors for scoping, design, cleanup, configuration, testing and maintenance of lab system interfaces.
- This role will require the ability to multi-task and be able to work with multiple active projects running in parallel.
- This role will require the ability to speak fluently with lab technicians and lab vendors from medical oncology practices to understand their current environments, lab tests, operations and lab codes; then be able to use this information in the implementation of new integrations.
- This role will require the ability to explain and train clinical practices on the use of mapping techniques and system integrations.
- This role requires understanding of molecular genomics ordering and results for both tissue and blood specimens.

responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and update mapping and cross references between precision medicine vendor codes and standardized lab codes (LOINC, SNOMED)
- Assist practices to create and maintain provider tables for integration with precision medicine vendors
- Maintain vendor account information for practice location specific integration
- Support practice integration by researching and responding to customer and vendor results integration issues
- Assist in lab panel and analyte mapping between LIS and reference lab codes to standardized lab codes (LOINC, SNOMED)
- Support practice LIS and reference lab integration by researching and responding to customer and vendor results integration issues
- Assist Sr. Lab Integration Specialists with new Outbound Lab Ordering integrations
qualifications:
Mandatory Skills:
- Must have a MLT, MS or CLS (laboratory certification)
- At least 4 years as a Lab Professional
- Must have experience with either integration with an Electronic Medical Record or a Lab Information System but prefer both
- 4+ years of experience working in a clinical lab
- 2+ years of experience working with lab systems (e.g. Orchard, Labdaq, Cerner, Epic Beacon)
- Knowledge of clinical lab codes (LOINC)
- Knowledge of CLIA requirements
- Knowledge of EMR workflow
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Experience calculating test results and logging and reporting results using a computer
- Ability to work in team environment in the configuration and testing of system integrations
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation skills)
- Strong customer service skills

- Experience working in oncology environments
- Experience working with oncology specific EMR preferred
- Experience working with Orchard or LabDaq LIS products
- Experience working with hospital EHRs (Epic, Cerner, Allscripts)
- Experience performing routine and non-routine tests and analyses using the appropriate technical equipment and instruments
- Knowledge of HL7 Interfaces (v2.5.x and FHIR)
- Experience working with genomic/molecular testing
- Experience with SNOMED and mCODE helpful
- Ability to assist in the creation of project plans
- 4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience
- MLT, MS or CLS required
