responsibilities:
- Investment Monitoring & Reporting:
- Daily monitoring of investment portfolio positions across multiple custodians and managers.
- Assist in the preparation of internal reporting packages on a daily, weekly, and quarterly basis.
- Prepare month-end reconciliations to custodians' and managers' official statements and finalize the monthly Net Asset Value (NAV).
- Contribute to internal technology project initiatives, including development, testing, and implementation.
- Portfolio Accounting & Reconciliation:
- Process daily trades and cash transactions within the portfolio accounting system and data warehouse.
- Perform daily cash and position reconciliations to custodians and investment managers, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Calculate daily NAV, including pricing, interest, and dividend accruals.
- Monitor and process corporate actions such as dividends, stock splits, tender offers, and reorganizations.
- Oversee bank debt activity, including rate resets, paydowns, PIKs, and restructurings.
- Ensure accurate transaction booking and journal entries within the portfolio accounting system.
- Assist in closing investment portfolios and determining monthly NAV
- Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Assist in the closing of management company books and records and intercompany reconciliations.
- Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, and income/expense allocations to partners' capital accounts.
- Manage fund lifecycles, oversee in-house accounting, and liaise with external auditors.
- Facilitate year-end tax compliance and support regulatory reporting.
- Maintain detailed record-keeping and contribute to process streamlining and documentation improvements.
- Operational Support & Process Improvement:
- Act as a liaison with custodians and investment managers' back-office teams.
- Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, automate workflows, and improve portfolio accounting systems.
- Document procedures and identify opportunities to optimize existing financial operations.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting, hedge fund management, asset management, or a related financial industry.
- Strong understanding of derivatives, and investment valuation methodologies.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with large data sets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to handle confidential information.
