The Financial Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of financial information for assigned entities. This role provides direct oversight and management of a team of 6 accounting professionals. The Financial Accounting Manager reviews for accuracy and ensures compliance with all policies and procedures while supporting month-end close activities, budget development, and state regulatory requests, and assists with internal/external audits.
- Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 per year

responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 6 accounting staff, in a high-performance culture.
- Ensure the timely completion of month-end close activities, including reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
- Oversee and coordinate the financial accounting and reporting processes ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare financial data for external regulatory reporting and compliance filings.
- Maintain adherence to all financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and analysis.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage ad hoc financial projects.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
- Master's degree, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) are preferred.
- 2+ years of accounting supervisory experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
- Ability to manage and mentor a team effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
