job summary: Our client is seeking an Additive Manufacturing R&D Engineer to serve as the technical lead for integrating 3D printing technologies into both engineering development and production environments. You will manage the entire lifecycle of additive production-from material selection and CAD preparation to machine optimization-while working closely with design and research teams to support rapid prototyping, composite manufacturing development, and next-generation aerospace structures. You will be the subject matter expert for 3D printing workflows within the engineering environment.Collaborate with Design Engineers to develop innovative tooling, rapid prototypes, and production-support hardware using additive solutions. Bridge the gap between additive and subtractive methods by assisting with CNC machining operations (including 5-axis environments) and composite manufacturing development.Manage the full lifecycle of R&D materials-from procurement and handling to ensuring rigorous documentation and storage compliance.Coordinate facility requirements, including equipment layouts, utility planning, and the technical infrastructure needed to scale advanced manufacturing systems.Partner with EHS teams to manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensure all new R&D processes meet stringent aerospace safety regulations.
