job summary: A Project Engineer Consultant is needed for a leader in power and automation technologies in the Houston, TX area. This role involves leading technical project execution, ensuring compliance, customer satisfaction, and financial success for complex systems involving AC/DC drives and power electronics, while applying advanced engineering methods and coordinating cross-functional activities. location: Houston, Texas job type: Contract salary: $32.14 - 45.00 per hour work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Develop systems and associated documentation to meet contractual and program quality requirements.Ensure project execution, contract compliance, customer satisfaction, and financial return for large, complex projects.Serve as a technical consultant to managers and project participants.Coordinate project activities and provide technical leadership.Act as technical lead, approving design deliverables and ensuring conformity, safety, and quality assurance.Solve critical issues and apply advanced concepts and methods.Work with customers to shape and deliver solutions, incorporating feedback for improvements.Participate in project meetings, resolving technical issues to meet contractual obligations.Assist in preparing proposals and presentations for engineering projects.Apply Design Thinking and Design for Excellence concepts in projects, including modeling, prototyping, and simulation.Conduct peer reviews and verify designs using checklists and engineering standards. Skills: Experience in Control Engineering for Power Electronics and Drives, control theory and simulation tools e.g. MATLAB/ Simulink.Proficient in good written and spoken English.Basic knowledge of C/C++ programming and willingness to develop this skill and related processes.
