Candidate must have previous experience working with direct labor/people on the plant floor. Follows all environmental and safety policies and procedures.Promotes continuous improvement in environmental and safety issues by ensuring that equipment is designed, modified or repaired to maintain and improve safety and environmental performance. Provides technical support for Safety activities including ergonomics at the work stations.Ensures that equipment is capable of producing parts to specification.Provides project leadership on continuous improvement ideas: Equipment and equipment designProcess simplification and improvementProject Coordination between, technical, support and financial groupsPreventative and Predictive maintenanceLead role on quality for control plans & PMEA'sMajor role in quality teams implementation of corrective actions Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.Writes, submits, and manages Capital/Expense Projects, including analysis for justification.Provides training and work instructions on new equipment and process changes.Coordinates ECAP's and Process and Routing Changes.Keeps updated on the latest engineering techniques that apply to processes used, and communicates information to others.Develops cost reduction ideas.Implements lean initiatives; 5-S, Kaizen, Standard Work Instructions, and TPS.Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
