job summary: The Vice President of Quality (VP, Quality) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality assurance at our clientsl, including direct management of the Quality Control (QC) Lab and the Food Safety Program. Reporting to the Senior Vice President (SVP), Operations, the VP, Quality will supervise a team consisting of three QC lab technicians and a VP of Food Safety. This newly created role consolidates the Quality Control Lab and Food Safety Program under a single leadership structure to ensure streamlined oversight of quality assurance, control, and product safety across the Company's domestic manufacturing sites and Central American operations. Food Safety Program Management Oversee food safety programs, including HACCP, SQF, and GFSI, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.Conduct internal reviews to verify adherence to food safety requirements.Ensure all employees receive comprehensive food safety training. Supplier and Ingredient Sourcing Participate in the screening and approval of new suppliers and monitor supplier performance.Support processes related to sourcing new ingredients and second sourcing options. Operational Leadership and Training Develop and implement QC lab technician testing and training programs to enhance organoleptic capabilities.Manage employee performance, daily activities, and the achievement of defined goals and objectives. Audits and Regulatory Compliance Collaborate with Regulatory teams on compliance and food safety matters.Support and participate in third-party audits and reviews. Continuous Improvement Identify and implement opportunities to improve lab operations and food safety programs.Establish metrics and reports to measure QC lab performance and overall company quality.Drive initiatives to reduce non-conformances, enhancing efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
