We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our clients payroll department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee earnings, deductions, and tax withholdings. This role is responsible for supervising staff, managing compliance, supporting systems integrations, and driving process improvements across all payroll functions. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented leader with technical expertise in payroll systems, federal/state tax laws, and employee compensation.This role is 100% remotely working but would need to be local to the Milwaukee area for any Onsite meetings. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field. Minimum of 7 years of payroll processing experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role. Working knowledge of Oracle Fusion preferred or any Oracle PeopleSoft North American Payroll (v8.8 or higher), including payroll table configuration and query writing. Hands-on experience with quarterly/annual payroll taxes, W-2/W-2C processing, garnishment setup, manual checks, and payroll reversals. Experience with tax updates, payroll system upgrades, and test script execution. Preferred Qualifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification. Proficiency in ADP FACS website, including file transmission, reconciliation, and amendments. Understanding of payroll ledger entries, reconciliations, and discrepancy resolutions. Support staff with payroll processing tasks including earnings, deductions, retroactive payments, and off-cycle checks. Conduct various audits during weekly payroll processing (e.g., rapid pay sheets, bonus uploads). Provide payroll data reporting and insights to departments such as Accounting, Finance, and Human Resources. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects, systems upgrades, and payroll process improvements. Maintain and configure payroll-related tables in the HRIS system. Manage time and attendance data, including system interfaces and accuracy checks. Represent payroll in labor systems meetings, track issues, and facilitate resolutions. Process monthly general ledger payroll interface and reconcile entries. Oversee payroll tax filings on a weekly, quarterly, and annual basis. Implement quality controls to ensure data integrity through audit and balancing procedures. Participate in payroll integrations during mergers and acquisitions. Lead year-end processing including W-2 generation and distribution. Recommend and implement enhancements to payroll systems and workflows. Hire, coach, and manage payroll staff; conduct performance reviews, training, and development.
