What You'll Do: Be the Communication Navigator: Enter, edit, maintain on-call schedule for local hospital support staff and maintain information database. Emergency Response & Coordination: Log and announce all emergency codes (cardiac arrest, fire, disaster, severe weather), bed status diversion, ensuring key personnel are immediately notified. Patient & Staff Advocate: Tactfully handle sensitive inquiries, assist with patient information, and provide general support to ensure a smooth experience for everyone. Operational Support: Monitor call volume, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide on-call coverage when management isn't available. Team Contributor: Provide input on performance evaluations and assist in the training and hiring of new employees, playing a part in shaping our future team. What You'll Bring: A High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Exceptional communication skills with a pleasant and professional speaking voice. A proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and remain calm in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. A detail-oriented and customer-focused approach with excellent telephone etiquette. General knowledge of medical terminology, previous healthcare experience, two years in a PBX/Switchboard environment, and Spanish a plus but successful candidate need not be.
