Administer request for quotations, examine bids and recommend suppliers to the Purchasing Director, R & D and Project Management. Source new materials/ suppliers within the quality guidelines as required for new and existing projects. Negotiate cost, terms and service with vendors to meet company’s goals and objectives. Participates on project management project teams as necessary. This position requires working closely with cross-functional partners in Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Project Management, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing and Product Development. Support contract creation and execution for key supplier relationships. Support RFQs, evaluate proposals, negotiate prices. Ability to work in fast paced environment interacting with plant personnel, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Ensure materials sourced meet customer specifications and that all documentation supports these specifications. Clear communication style to work with Suppliers, internal & external customers/stakeholders and executive management. Perform commercial procurement of raw materials and components as needed. Manage others within the department.
