job summary: A Controls Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Newton, NC area. This role seeks a highly independent Controls (PLC) Technician with 7+ years of experience (or 10+ without an AAS degree) to provide 2nd level troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and project execution support across all phases of manufacturing line installation, specializing in PLCs, HMIs, drives, and safety systems. location: Newton, North Carolina job type: Contract salary: $39.94 - 55.91 per hour work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Associates responsibilities: Technical Support: Provide 2nd level technical expertise in PLC controls-based troubleshooting for new production line installation.Continuous Improvement: Enhance manufacturing capabilities through the implementation of new ideas and methods.Project Execution: Independently execute project objectives to fulfill overall project goals and milestones. Project Participation: Actively participate in all phases of projects, including: Design, fabrication, and off-line integration/testing.Installation and production start-up support.Training of plant personnel and technology transfer. Direction: Take direction from a Senior Controls Engineer while maintaining a high degree of independence. Experience & Education Requirements (Minimums): Experience: 7+ years working with PLCs, HMIs, drives, and safety systems, and structured programming. Experience should preferably be in a manufacturing environment. Education: AAS (Associate of Applied Science) Degree or Higher is desired. 3 additional years of experience (for a total of 10+ years) can be considered in lieu of formal education.
