job summary: Legal Secretary A midsize law firm with an office in Irvine, CA is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented legal administrative professional with extensive experience in office management, document preparation, and organizational support. location: Irvine, California job type: Permanent salary: $85,000 - 95,000 per year work hours: 9 to 5 education: No Degree Required experience: 3 Years responsibilities: Responsible for drafting documents, transcription, formatting, e-filing, coordinating service of process, calendaring, and trial preparation.Assist attorneys by proof-reading, formatting and preparing discovery documents, pleadings, subpoenas, motions and status letters.Effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and attorneys.Maintain and update case record system.Answer phone calls, take notes, and redirect calls when appropriate.Keep multiple agendas and provide timely reminders.Input expense reimbursement and check requests.Support legal research by communicating with vendors, experts, opposing counsel, and other staff.Assist with trial preparation and briefs.Index and update pleading and discovery binders.Make travel arrangements.Schedule client and attorneys appointments. qualifications: Minimum 3+ years recent litigation legal secretarial experience within a law firm. Proficiency in typing (65+ wpm). Familiarity with state and federal rules and procedures. Solid understanding of technical legal terminology and court filings. Experience with trial preparation and briefs. Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail and accuracy. Familiarity with law firm billing software is a plus. Starting Salary for this position is 85,000 - 95,000 + overtime.
